Expanding business advisers and chartered accountants UNW (Newcastle, United Kingdom) have attracted a senior manager from global consumer goods giant P&G to head up its cloud accounting outsourced service.
UNW have appointed Alison Gould, who spent 12 years in accounting and finance roles at Procter & Gamble, to lead a major move into cloud accounting, which will allow business owners and managers to view their business’ current financial position and performance at any time.
Gould, who has also worked for Grant Thornton, The Pen Shop and Bank of Scotland during her career, says her new role will help improve collaboration with clients all year round and increase interactivity.
She said: “After 12 years at P&G I was looking for a new challenge and the role at UNW has certainly offered me that.
“Technology now enables the ready and secure transfer of business data and many business owners want to know they can access the management information they need to succeed without having to incur the cost or stress of managing their own finance function. Clearly this solution doesn’t work for everyone, but there are an increasing number that see this as the answer.
“I am very excited about the possibilities of this role and look forward to my time here at UNW.”
UNW managing partner Andrew Wilson said: “Our excellent client portfolio and track record for growth is helping us to attract some of the very best people in the region.
“We are delighted to welcome someone of Alison’s calibre, who has enjoyed a long and varied finance career at P&G, and look forward to working with her to build our cloud accounting and outsourcing capabilities.”
