New addition to the English Premier League, Burnley Football Club, has appointed BKR member Cassons as their new accountants.
Cassons will support the club by carrying out the audit and providing tax, financial and general business advice from their Lancashire office.
Carlton Cooper, partner at Cassons said: “Cassons has roots in Burnley and there’s an immense amount of pride among our employees that we have been appointed by the club.
“Obviously we are taking up this role at a very exciting time in Burnley’s history following its recent promotion to the English Premier League. From a personal point of view – as a lifelong Burnley supporter and a season ticket holder – this is a very special day for Cassons.”
Under the agreement, Cassons will also assist the club in preparing and completing financial reports to the football authorities and provide ongoing support to Turf Moor’s new Financial Controller, Steve Cook.
Burnley FC Director Mr Clive Holt: “We are very pleased to welcome back Cassons as the club auditors and tax advisers. They are a growing local company, with many employees who are Clarets fans, and we look forward to working with them.”
Cassons have also been appointed to work for Burnley Football Club in the Community, a charitable organisation linked to the club, established to promote local community participation in recreation. Cassons will prepare and audit the financial statements of the charity and provide financial advice.
