Briggs & Veselka Co. (Houston) is proud to announce that BVCA, its leading merger & acquisition advisory firm, provided strategic consulting services to COBAN Technologies, an innovative supplier of body cameras and in-car video solutions for law enforcement, in its recent sale to Safe Fleet. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed. Established in 2002, COBAN’s state-of-the-art in-car video and digital evidence management software is used by many of the top police departments in the country.
BVCA provided advisory and consulting services to COBAN, transaction structure alternatives, key transaction elements, and assistance with final negotiations. “BVCA was a great M&A advisory choice for COBAN. They took the time to understand issues in the deal and formulated well-reasoned strategies to resolve them,” said Jeff Lee CFO, of COBAN. “Sid Shaver and his team played a critical role in this very successful transaction for COBAN’s shareholders, and we could not have obtained the result without them. We highly recommend the BVCA team to anyone who is considering a transaction,” Lee added.
“Despite the complexities of this transaction, it was quite a collaborative effort from both parties and their respective advisors,” said Shaver, Senior Managing Director of BVCA. “We were all able to achieve an outcome designed to benefit both parties over time, which makes this transaction particularly rewarding,” he added.
In the past twelve months, BVCA has worked on more than a dozen middle market transactions, many of which include tax planning and financial due diligence from the Briggs & Veselka, CPA Transaction Advisory Group.
