With 60 delegates across both meetings, from 23 member firms, coming from 15 different countries, BKR hosted this year’s EMEA regional Business Services and Tax meetings in Amsterdam on Monday 24 November.

The Business Services meeting commenced with a welcome from Anne Mouhssine (Paris) followed by a useful presentation on International Public Sector Accounting Standards by Anna Pennelegion (Paris).
Anne Mouhssine subsequently presented the session on ‘How to deal with fraud risk in the audit approach’.
After lunch, delegates were treated to a joint presentation on Group Audit Instructions by Rene van del Heuvel (Eindhoven) and Ulrich Viefers (Dusseldorf).
The Business Services meeting finished with an open discussion on the New Audit Directive and a debate on the Future of Audit.
In the room next door, the Tax meeting was taking place which commenced with an introduction from Angelos Theodorou (Nicosia), in his capacity as Chair of the EMEA Tax Committee.
Delegates welcomed guest speaker from Charles River Associates, Gerben Weistra, who presented a very beneficial session on Transfer Pricing recent trends and developments.
Before lunch, Helen Cowley(Manchester) chaired the Income Tax session, with panellists Marco Borioli & Giorgio Colombo (Milan), Erwin Deijmann (Utrecht) and Jean-Jacques Touret (Paris) discussing court cases and their latest issues and interpretations.
This continued after lunch, before the final round table discussions commenced with all delegates sharing Tax updates from their respective countries.
