The BKR EMEA regional office has been named winner of the Commitment to Finance Award for 2013 by the publication Acquisition International.

Acquisition International’s 2013 Finance Awards are the only awards that celebrate achievement, innovation and brilliance from an international perspective. These independent legitimate awards chosen by the readership set the benchmark in the finance industry and as the esteemed winner of “Commitment to Finance Award – UK”, BKR International is extremely proud to boast this award.

Stephen Hamlet, Executive Director of the EMEA region, based in London, said: “It was a delight to be nominated for such an award; and to be named as the eventual winner was absolutely fantastic! Since being appointed as BKR International’s first Executive Director for Europe, the Middle East and Africa, the region has developed considerably, with membership having grown by over 20%. We have recently recruited some excellent, high quality firms in a number of key locations, particularly throughout Europe, many of whom have very strong and experienced corporate finance teams. It is an honour to be recognised for such achievement. I see this as not only an award for the commitment we provide to our members but, more importantly, the commitment our member firms provide to their clients.”

These awards recognise the outstanding achievements of individuals and companies within the business and finance sector. AI’s Finance Awards identify and honour success, innovation and ethics across international business communities.

AI prides itself on the validity of its awards and its winners. The awards are given solely on merit and are awarded to commend those most deserving for outstanding work over the last 12 months. The awards recognise leaders in their respective fields and, crucially, are nominated by their clients and their peers.

“It’s clear from our awards that financial services professionals have risen to the challenges of the past 12 months and produced some outstanding work,” commented Charlotte Abbott, Chief Co-Ordinator of the 2013 Finance Awards. “The sheer scale of interest took us by surprise and we’re delighted that the industry has been so determined to recognise its stars.”

This year’s awards recognised over 600 winners in more than 60 countries. Please visit the AI website ( to access the winners’ supplement.
