As a member of the BKR EMEA region, our members have access to a number of resources at both regional level and worldwide.
Sharing resources and information to enhance and expand their services, BKR members are part of a global team that has access to wide ranging financial and tax expertise.
Members attend an annual regional conference, in addition to regular Tax and Audit meetings, and other sub-regional meetings.
There is also an annual Worldwide conference which in 2009 was held in New York, to celebrate BKR’s 20th anniversary. Annual conferences are always very well attended and prove to be extremely successful events, providing the opportunity for all members to meet and attend a number of social activities as well as participating in very constructive and informative seminars and lectures on current international issues. We have also recently enhanced our technical offering where we have regular updates of, for example, IFRS and provide other regular services.
We place extreme value on the quality of our member firms. BKR is, itself, a member of EGIAN (European Group of International Accounting Networks and Associations:
www.egian.eu). We learn a lot from this forum regarding common technical and legislative issues, and this is then applied not only to Europe but to the BKR association worldwide. EGIAN also enables BKR to have an input in developing common positions on specific technical and legislative issues and to debate these issues with key professional stakeholders and regulators such as The European Union, CESR (The Committee of European Securities Regulators), FEE (The Federation of European Accountants) and IFAC (The International Federation of Accountants).
